High Ridge Park earns ENERGY STAR rating

By High Ridge Park | March 23, 2010 | 6:58 p.m

High Ridge Park Corporate Center in Stamford, Conn. has announced that Buildings 3 and 5 have earned the prestigious ENERGY STAR designation. According to ENERGY STAR’s Commercial & Industrial Branch, the ENERGY STAR is the mark of superior energy performance and identifies these two High Ridge Park buildings amongst the most efficient buildings in the nation, helping to prevent the release of greenhouse gases, in turn protecting the environment.

“In the real estate industry, this recognition sets us apart,” said Jodi Gutierrez, vice president of property management for George Comfort & Sons and on-site property manager of High Ridge Park Corporate Center. “We have been implementing several ‘green’ initiatives to bring our buildings to a higher level of energy efficiency and we are proud to receive this designation.”

High Ridge Park Buildings 3 and 5 can now be found on a registry of buildings that earned the ENERGY STAR at www.energystar.gov. According to this source, only three buildings in Stamford have achieved this energy rating. High Ridge Park’s Buildings 3 and 5 represent two of the three ENERGY STAR rated properties in Stamford.

Some of the green initiatives at High Ridge Park include the installation of energy-saving solar control low-e insulated glass on the new curtain walls at Buildings 1, 4 and 5, new reflective white roofs on Buildings 1 and 6 and new Building Management Systems in Buildings 3, 5 and 6. All of the buildings have had energy efficient lighting fixture upgrades. In Building 3, occupancy sensors have been installed throughout the building, and day-light harvesting fixtures were installed in the perimeter office spaces. Many other mechanical and electrical equipment replacements and improvements have been made in all of the buildings at High Ridge Park, contributing to the park’s total increased energy efficiency. Management is also working toward having all of the buildings at the property receive this ENERGY STAR designation.

In addition to these physical upgrades, High Ridge Park has also implemented a shuttle service to the local train station to minimize fuel use and emissions.
